About G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y

My nightly ritual, for many years, has been to write down what I'm grateful for from that day, before falling asleep. Ending each day on a note of gratitude was inspired by Sonia Choquette, one of my favorite authors, who suggested it as being very good for the Spirit. She was right.
This daily ritual has changed my life.
Every time I choose to focus on something I feel grateful for,
I feel empowered.
I feel lighter.
And I can feel my heart humming.
.
I shared things I was grateful for here and there on my blog, but decided that I wanted to share parts of my daily gratitude lists with the world on a regular weekly basis.
My heart said "Gratitude Sunday" and the tradition was born.
On May 8, 2011, I began the tradition of
G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y
 {Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}
.
Our gratefulness feeds one another.
.
In that original post, I wrote:
"Each Sunday, I'll post a list of things I'm grateful for from that week, that day, that moment, or in my life in general. So often we are rushing and working to get what we want, that we can overlook all that we are blessed with in our lives right now. The list might be one thing, it might be twenty one, but it's a grateful heart that matters. Sunday is a good, quiet day, to reflect on the week before and life as a whole and appreciate all good things."
.
I envisioned many friends (with lots yet to meet) joining me in this heart-fulfilling tradition. I had no idea how important Gratitude Sunday would become to me or how much I would look forward to it each week. I enjoy reading other people's gratitude lists and find them so heartwarming and uplifting.
.
Some days it's easier to count your blessings than others, but if you look closer there is always something to be grateful for. Many of my Gratitude Sunday posts feature pictures from nature. The beauty outdoors that comes with each season is something I am continually grateful for.

What others are saying about Gratitude Sunday:

"All week long, this little practice brings me into a quieter place of heart-filled appreciation."
-Jules from A Little Crafty Nest blog

"Gratitude Sunday is a time to slow down and remember those thankful moments that graced our week. One reason I love keeping a daily gratitude journal is because it helps keep things in perspective for me. Each Sunday, I open my journal and share some of those moments with you here.

Gratitude is powerful energy. I love hearing others’ gratitudes!"
-Lindsey from Herbangardener blog
