The Full Moon Trillium Dance

The first sight of a Trillium in Spring
is good luck

Today I spotted the first one
in the afternoon light

Sometimes the elves will hide behind the trees
and watch you curiously
as you gaze at the Trillium's beauty

I might have spotted one out of the corner of my eye
It was a mighty cute little fella

But you won't pay the elves much mind
because you will be so taken with the precious flower

Your eyes might grow wide
with awe

You might fall into a daydream
and recite poetry to this beloved creation....

The petals are as soft
as an Angel's wing
What might it feel like
against your cheek?

Petals as light
as a fairy's footprint
How can it be so delicate
and sweet?

White as white
as white can be
Pure
and
Simple
and
Brilliant

Glowing from within
Day and Night

If those few moments are not enough to satisfy your need
for the magic of the Trillium,
then you might want to try this:
(but your timing must be just right)

Quietly sneak out at Twilight
and hide in the woodland
Find a comfortable spot in the moss
and wait
until the full moon is high in the sky
You will see the Trilliums all throughout the wood
Glowing as brilliantly as the Moon
The Trilliums and the Moon are sisters
Watch in silence (keep quiet remember!)
The fairy lights will start to glow
They will circle each Trillium three times
And begin their yearly dance
The Spring Dance
The Moon Dance
The Trillium Dance
Under the Full Moon
When the petals have just opened
The fairies might invite other woodland friends
to join the celebration
They will dance on the petals so gently
You won't even see the petal move
Softer than the breeze
The fairies leave no trace of their dancing
It will be so beautiful, you might think it's a dream

And if you return the next day to the same spot
You might think that indeed it was
But the fairies leave tiny things behind
That a keen eye can spot
So watch closely
But the real proof..

You can feel
In your heart
