A Magical Place: Enchanted Cedar

 Does this look like a fun group of people, or what? These are the folks at Enchanted Cedar in Lorena, Texas. (See that wooden sign above? Yep, Jeff carved that.) If our family ever heads down to Texas, we will definitely be visiting Enchanted Cedar. We think their family is awesome and we love the magical space and community they are creating with their shop. We've been so grateful for their support of our family business as they've ordered wooden necklaces, earrings, bookmarks, signs and more from us, to sell in their shop. We're glad we get to be a part of what they're doing.
I love the names they have for the different rooms in their shop: King Chaga's Kitchen, Hummingbird Hollow, Birch Forest, Barefoot Cottage, Sage Meadow, and Nettle Grove. There you'll find a Waldorf toy and bookstore, delicious food, handmade treasures, and an outdoor seating and meditation area overlooking their community garden. They have story time, raw organic cooking classes, meditation, drum circles, yoga classes, Waldorf home school resources, and more.

I asked Brooke if she would share more about their shop with us. 

What inspired your family to start your business? Tell us about the journey of it's creation.

Brooke: We were longing for community. Personally I longed for friends that were parenting gently, for souls that were connected to the earth and to be around people who cared about what they put in their body. We found ourselves driving two plus hours to find families that we could hold a conversation with. Then one day it hit me “there is no way that in an area this big there isn’t at least one family or person who is on a similar path as us.” We decided we would open a place that would be a hub, a support system for people who were also on a path to vibrant living and higher consciousness. Enchanted Cedar has become the home of Healthy food, Drum Circles, The Community apothecary, Meditation, Raw cooking classes, Open mic poetry and music nights, Foraging classes, yoga and so much more!   

Tell us about your shop. What would we see if we came to your shop?  

Brooke: We tried to create a magical space that will inspire imaginations young and old. We even wrote a book called EnchantedCedar: The Journey Home where every room in our shop comes alive with fairies & elves. It's truly magical!

What are your dreams for the future of your business?  

Brooke: We want Enchanted Cedar to be an example of what the “new business” looks and sounds like.
The “new business” is based off community and trade, off support, off helping each other become sustainable and always, always giving more than we take to the earth and the souls around us.
