Throughout the week I've felt grateful for:
.
-Birds coming over to us in the garden and singing. It felt like they were singing to us.
.
-My Dad's visit.
.
-Blueberries in the freezer. Next to some strawberries and raspberries, it's nice to see it filling up.
.
-A fan to cool our upstairs down. It's so welcome on hot days!
.
-Bracken covering my face in kisses to help me wake up. What a love.
.
-My mom calling in the morning and singing 'Good Morning Merry Sunshine' on the answering machine. She sang that so many mornings to my sister and I when we were growing up. I'll always love it.
.
-Bracken being so happy when he got to play in the sink in the mornings, while I made breakfast. He loves being King of the Sink.
.
-Jeff wrapping his arms around me and giving me words of encouragement at the end of the day when I was being hard on myself. I needed that.
.
-Straining a beautiful batch of broth into a pan, so we could enjoy it (instead of down the drain, like on my spacey day.)
.
-Finding the first ripe blackberries around our place.
.
-Easy lunches that take a few minutes to put together.
.
-Finding seaweed sheets (at the Sunrise Asian Market) for a good deal. We love toasted nori for snacks!
.
-Writing my gratitudes by moonlight.
.
-Seeing my first lizard in Oregon. Jeff, Bracken and I watched it, all warm on a rock in our garden.
.
-Outside time to balance and ground, at the end of a long day away.
.
-Our sweet neighbor giving us gifts of homegrown vegetables (purple cauliflower, broccoli, and yellow zucchini) and some lobster mushrooms she found in the woods. Her generous gift was so appreciated!
.
-The weather not being as hot as we expected at market yesterday. Made for a much more pleasant day.
.
-Collapsing in bed at the end of a long day and fully surrendering to sleep when I was so tired. Sleep feels especially good when you're extra tired, doesn't it?
